Gujarat Jantri (Circle Rate) hike put on hold
Giving in to builders’ demand, economic slowdown and few technical snags, state govt puts off decision to hike jantri (Circle Rate) rates from April 1

The Gujarat government has postponed the implementation of the new Jantri (Circle Rate) rates, which were initially set to take effect on April 1, 2025. This decision was influenced by strong protests from the builder lobby and concerns about the potential negative impact on the real estate market, which is already facing challenges.
Additionally, the government is considering a phased approach to increase Jantri (Circle Rate) rates gradually over three years, at 20% per year, instead of implementing the hike all at once. This move aims to reduce the financial burden on property buyers and developers while still generating additional revenue for the state.
